Basics of substances and mixtures
The parts of any type of solution are solute and solvent. A solute is the minor component in a solution, dissolved in the solvent. A solvent is able to dissolve other substances. The universal solvent is water, thanks to its ability to dissolve the most substances and a variety. There are two types of mixtures which includes homogeneous (solution) which means two substances which dissolve together and looks like one substance, and heterogeneous (mechanical mixture) where the substances are insoluble and do not dissolve with one another and you can see the substances differently. On the chapter entitled "experiment" we will be focusing on separating mechanical mixtures, emulsifiers.
